Week 6: Developement of Posters

Earlier during the week I have been working on 3 poster designs which I had been asked to produce, making sure to leave room for the 'Exhibition Logo' and any text that is generated to advertise the event.

The three Designs I came up with are shown below. These can be altered if asked.

  1. Hi Richard,

I think, of the three ideas, the one of the pencil is quite interesting. You should try now to go from illustration to use of imagery. Try website Getty images and search for "pencil". It will display all sort of different images related to the topic that you can download and after manipulate in Photoshop. Maybe you can start with monotones of the image (maybe a plain black and white image of a pencil) and then, applying the colourful logo that your team selected as final in last week class. In that way, it will make the logo be outstanding and easy to identify by the potential visitors of your exhibition. Let me know if I can help you in issues related to the use of Photoshop or Illustrator.
Related to your CV and business card: I'm glad you already started working in them. Well done! I'm looking forwards to see what new ideas you come with. Be sure of, whatever you do, to print it out for class. In that way we can have a look at it and make as many changes as necessary (particularly with the information bit!). See you soon.

  2. Any new ideas for your pencil poster? What happened with the tryouts including a pencil picture taken by you and manipulating it in Photoshop. I think it would be a very engaging and powerful image. Give it a go. I know you like more illustration, but if you can use Photoshop, take advantage of it!
